1984-Ross Sornberger, Galesburg
President of the Galesburg Club from 1955 to 1962. Became treasurer and tournament and league director from 1962 to 1982. Now on the Board of directors, still playing but slowing down. One of Illinois' top A players all these years. Taking 2nd place in class A twice in the Illinois State Tournament and 1st in the B class one year. Holding a big National Open tournament the 2nd Sunday in August each year and drawing some of the Worlds finest players Ray Martin- Illinois State Champion, Glen Henten- Iowa State Champion, Curt Day- Indiana State Champion, Harold Reno- World and Ohio State Champion and Ted Allen 12 time World Champion and Colorado State Champion. Just to name a few. Was inducted into the Illinois Horseshoe Hall of Fame on Sept. 1st. 1984 at the State Tournament in Springfield, IL.
