Hi!

For everyone that couldn't make the meeting I have some exciting news. My husband John has set up a new web page for the Court Reporter what we are trying to due is save money for the association on postage and printing. What I need from everyone is that you allow us to take you off the mailing list. The site is www.ilshpa.com if you go under reports you will see past issue's and when I finish with the April issue I would e-mail you to let you know when it is out there for viewing. I will do this every time an issue is done. You no longer have to wait for up to 2 weeks to receive your Court Reporter. The nice thing about this is anything we put in color you will see it that way. The By-laws & Constitution, membership application and the State tournament application will be on there. Just like I told everyone at the meeting Terry will still have his web page at www.fourdead.com we are going to try and get the www.fourdead.com on our page and have Terry add the link for the Court Reporter on his site. Please save the association money by e-mailing me back just stating it is OK to take you off the mailing list we are hoping that anyone with a computer will do this. Let me know as soon as possible before I finish the April issue at least by Friday. If for any reason that you change your e-mail you need to make sure that you let me know at ilshpa@comcast.net.

Springfield to host '09 world horseshoe pitching tournament
More than 1,200 horseshoe pitchers will converge in Springfield in two years for the 2009 world horseshoe championship tournament, tourism officials announced this morning.

Springfield competed against Topeka, Kansas, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to land the event, which will take place July 27 through Aug. 8, 2009, at the Prairie Capital Convention Center.

The Capital Area Sports Commission and the Illinois Horseshoe Pitchers Association will be the official hosts of the event. The ILSHPA also will help set up about 50 portable horseshoe courts on the main floor of the convention center.

The National Horseshoe Pitchers Association estimates the world championship event could have a $4 million to $6 million economic effect on Springfield.
